Zoobooks Magazine Review

Zoobooks is an educational magazine geared toward children 5 years of age or older, teaching them everything they could ever want to know about animals, birds, reptiles and insects.  They actually have 58 different magazine titles over a variety of animals.  The magazine teaches through words, pictures, and even interactive activities.  It is designed to strengthen children’s learning ability in general, while focusing on their vocabulary and reading skills.  It’s also incredibly fun for kids to read.

According to the Zoobooks website, each issue contains:

  • 20 full color pages of lifelike drawings and stunning photography of the animal in its natural setting
  • Detailed illustrations of muscle and bone structure and significant body parts
  • A 4-page pullout section with puzzles, number games, and make-it-yourself fun
  • Illustrations and maps for at-a-glance reference
  • Descriptions of the different types of each animal, their characteristics, and roles they have played in various cultures
  • And, NO advertising to get in the way of your child's learning!

Quality

While there are several so called educational resources for children, many of them don’t follow through with their promises.  Zoobooks is not one of these.  This magazine is very educational and fun for kids.  The magazine itself and the information inside is of the highest quality.  Parents are often surprised at how much they even enjoy reading the magazine with their kids.  Each magazine focuses on a specific animal, so your child will learn more than you can imagine with each issue.  The only downside is that Zoobooks only has 58 issues at this time.  This means that it is possible to run out of magazine issues, unless the company starts to create more.

Partial review from eopinions.com

“An easy to read format for the budding animal enthusiast with activities for subscribers online and inside the middle section of the magazine.

The magazine arrives about the fifteenth of each month, and not fast enough for my ten year-old son. We have been getting a subscription for about five years now. Each issue focuses on one subject with no advertisements and seventeen pages in each issue.”

Conclusion

In conclusion, this is a great educational magazine if your child already loves animals or you want to get them more interested.  It’s also a great way for you to be involved in your child’s learning process.  While the price might seem slightly high for a magazine subscription, it is definitely worth the cost.  Also, if you find that you don’t like the magazine, you can always get your money back.
